Who are the Hubbarts? This is a good place to start.

Hello! My name is Jason Hubbart, my wife and I pastor a church in Sydney, Australia. We have three kids: Ava, Nate, and Grace. Here they are!

 Amy and I moved our family (at that time, consisting of the two of us and 20 month old Ava) from Dallas to Sydney in July 2005, and have spent the years since starting a church and working with young people on high school and university campuses.. In Mark 16:15 Jesus instructs us to “go into all the world and share the good news with every person”. We love what we do, and we love that we get to do it in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Thanks for taking an interest.

Here is a little more information about what we are a part of and what we’re doing:

• Amy and I have been a part of Every Nation Ministries for the past 10 years. The mission of Every Nation Ministries is to “honor God and advance His Kingdom through Church Planting, Campus Ministry and World Missions”. Every Nation’s goal is to plant a life-giving, vibrant church in every nation of the world. We have just begun but currently have over 600 churches in approximately 60 nations.
• In 2005, we began serving as associate pastors on a church planting team and in 2007, became the senior pastors of the church. It has been a very exciting time and we have seen the church go from a handful of believers to over 80 people attending. We have gained a lot of momentum lately and the relationships we have built in the community through small groups have continued to grow.
• Sydney has a population of 5 million people, and there are about 250,000 college students living here, from all over this part of the world. It is one of the most international cities in the world. It’s an amazing opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with many nations!
• When we talk with people in the States about our ministry, they are often surprised to hear how secular the culture and nation of Australia really is. On any given Sunday, less than 5 percent of the population attend church. For many of the people we’ve met, a concept of God or church plays no role in their lives. The need and potential is great!
• The vision, with God’s grace, is to build a church that will serve and reach our local community, the city of Sydney and ultimately be a missions-sending church for the rest of Australia and the South Pacific.

As missionaries to Australia, Amy and I have developed a financial and prayer partnership team that has helped made it possible for us to go to Sydney. This blog is a way for us to communicate with that team and others, to let them know what's happening here.
